For the past 25 years, I have devoted part of my time each year to exploring and enjoying the Samburu Reserve, a true sanctuary of nature. During these enriching years, I have had the pleasure of being accompanied by Nahim, who is not only my guide but also a dear friend. Together, we have shared unforgettable moments and experiences of discovery that have left a deep impression on me.

Over the years, I have had the incredible opportunity to observe and photograph the reserve’s exceptional wildlife, with each encounter more fascinating than the last. Nahim has a remarkable talent for tracking down animals, spotting them where others might miss them. Thanks to his expertise, he also knows how to position our vehicle perfectly to maximise my chances of capturing the best possible images, whether it’s a herd of majestic elephants or a colourful bird in flight.

For me, Samburu National Reserve is undoubtedly the most magnificent in Kenya, although every reserve has its own unique beauty. What strikes me most about this region is the incredible diversity of the species that live there. With around 700 elephants recorded, a multitude of birds with vibrant plumage, and lush vegetation typical of this semi-arid zone, Samburu stands out as a truly unique and priceless place. It is a place that never ceases to fascinate and amaze me, and I am grateful to be able to return there every year.
